Guardian Program

2-Our Guardian Program

A beautiful way to be part of something special

At Fairview Park Groodles, we believe every dog deserves to live a full, happy life as a beloved family member—even our breeding dogs. That’s why we run a guardian program, which gives our future puppy parents the chance to grow up and live with their own dedicated family, just like their littermates.

As a guardian, your dog will return to us from time to time—boys and girls—for short stays related to mating, and in the case of females, again to whelp and raise their litters with us. Between those visits, they live life as your much-loved pet, enjoying all the cuddles, adventures, and everyday family life that every dog deserves.

What are the benefits of being a guardian family?

  • Significant savings – Guardian puppies are virtually free! They are offered at 50% of the standard purchase price, taken as a fully refundable security deposit once the program is complete.

  • Best of the best – You receive a carefully selected “pick of the litter” puppy for free!

  • Guilt-free holidays – If you’re guardian to a female, we’ll care for her during her whelping period—many families find this a great time to take a break or travel.

  • A forever pet – Once your dog’s breeding journey is complete, your deposit is refunded, and your dog remains with you forever, no strings attached.

  • Contribute to something meaningful – You’ll be helping us raise future generations of healthy, happy Groodles and Golden Bernedoodles with the best start to life.

How does it work?

We provide a clear agreement outlining all responsibilities, but here’s a summary of the main expectations:

  • Short stays with us:

    • Males come back for short visits—often just a day or two—for breeding. We can also organise bulk collections to go into storage to ease the burden of access.

    • Females return about a week after coming into heat for a short period for mating, then again a week before their litter is due, staying with us until their puppies are weaned.

  • Location requirements:

    • It is generally preferred that guardian families live a maximum 2 hour radius from Canberra.
    • Families further away but within 1 hour of Bowral, Sydney or the Central Coast in NSW can also be considered as our reproductive vets are situated there, providing assistance can be provided in getting the dogs to us as needed.
  • Health care and nutrition:

    • You agree to follow our care guidelines, including feeding, worming, vaccinations, and general vet care.

    • We cover all breeding-related costs, including health screening, pregnancy care, and desexing at the end of the program.

  • Breeding expectations:

    • Females will have up to 2-3 litters, depending on their health and suitability.

    • Males may be used more frequently and over a longer period but are not overused, ensuring their welfare remains a priority. We can often do a few collections that go into storage to help with the burden of access.

We currently offer guardian opportunities for Groodles and in the future will offer Golden Bernedoodles. If you’re interested in joining our program, we’d love to hear from you—please book in a chat to discuss futher.

Being a guardian family is a special role—it means helping shape the future of our program while gaining a truly exceptional companion, without the cost of purchase. It also ensures that our parent dogs live a full, happy life in a loving home, receiving all the attention they deserve, while allowing us to responsibly bring puppies into the world without having too many dogs under our roof to love properly.

Current opportunities will be listed below, however we are always looking for a future pipeline of guardian families and can work within your timeframes and preferences.
